MCI have recently completed the design and built (and assisted with the installation) of one of the largest hazardous Area Switchboard / Motor Control Centres installed on a North Sea Installation. The Unit built for PD&MS and installed on the CNR operated Murchison Platform comprises of some 60+ EEx d enclosures for Isolation, Motor Control and Busbar System.
MCI have recently appointed Doug Grant as Workshop Supervisor, Doug will have responsibility for running a busy workshop, taking care of testing and all QA and HSE related matters within the workshop. Doug joins MCI after being with Acergy for some 28 years latterly in the capacity of Electrical Supervisor (workshops equipment Technical Support). Doug brings with him a wealth of experience both technically and with his organisational skills, we wish him well in his new role.
MCI will celebrate completion of 15years in business on 30th June 2010. We began trading on 1st July 1995 with 15 employees, now, with around 40 employees and some diversification along the way business has been good despite ‘the recession’. Ian McIntosh reports a good increase in turnover figures with margins slightly better than last year and is looking forward to another 15 years!
MCI have recently completed an order for the Manufacture and Installation of two Main Switchboards (one of which was a packaged with a 1600kVA Cast Resin Transformer) and Six Motor Control Centres. The contract was placed by Diageo the world renowned giant and installed in the new distillery being built at Roseisle.
MCI have recently appointed Paul Gauthier as an Electrical Engineer, Paul will be involved in both estimating and design.
